Indian River Colony Club Opens to Public for Garage Sale

Patriotic Viera community annual sale of military memorabilia, treasures from world travel

(VIERA, FL) February 21, 2023 – Guam. Italy. Puerto Rico. Korea. Greece. Germany. The Philippines. These are just a few of the international locations where the military veteran residents of Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) in Viera were once stationed. On Saturday, March 4, eager bargain hunters will have a chance to peruse treasures from around the world when the gated golf community holds its annual IRCC Garage Sale Extravaganza from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the IRCC Maintenance Facility. The Viera neighborhood of nearly 800 homes at 1936 Freedom Drive invites the public to park along Murrell Road and enter through its south gate at Continental Boulevard for the duration of the event. Courtesy transportation via golf cart will be provided to and from the sale site. Far from an ordinary garage sale, the IRCC Garage Sale Extravaganza event will feature military memorabilia, arts & crafts items from over 50 neighborhood sellers and artisans and a mile high table of mouth-watering baked goods– in addition to gently used household items, furniture, clothing, sporting equipment and more. Proceeds from items sold by the community’s Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps women’s organizations will help fund their charitable outreach efforts on the Space Coast. “80 percent of our residents are military veterans who have collected items from every corner of the world,” said Tony Ortiz, Garage Sale Coordinator and member of the Indian River Colony Club Residents Activities Council. “I am always surprised at the quality and variety of items for sale at this annual event. There are some things you just won’t find anywhere else.”
