January 13th, 2025, marks our fifth anniversary at IRCC. We left beach front property in Indialantic to move here, and we reference our life to friends as “The IRCC Land Cruise.” It’s all the fun of a cruise, packed into a residential community! We love our home in IRCC, where we feel safe, needed & loved. Shortly after we arrived, we started the grief support group, Walking Through Grief. This is our way of giving back to this wonderful community.  So far, we have helped over 28 people–and feel grateful to be of service.

When we began our search to find a place to start our “next chapter,” we were surprised to find that IRCC exceeded all we had hoped for in our new home.

It is exciting to be part of IRCC’s “living history experience.” The military service of several of the residents is beyond impressive, and the stories of courage and patriotism abound. We are humbled to live among so many heroes.

The activities that are available are almost endless and one can be as active as they want. We have formed friendships with others who share the same interests and attitudes that we hold dear.

IRCC’s Maintenance Program is unparalleled by any program offered elsewhere. Issues of concern are addressed by IRCC without the resident ever having to lift a finger.

We are so happy to have found Indian River Colony Club! Our neighbors and friends have become family. We love the community camaraderie, active lifestyle, events and activities, happy hour, delicious dining and feeling of always being welcome. We love not having to worry about maintenance and landscaping; it’s the best feeling knowing that we are in such good hands. The military environment is familiar and comforting and brings the diverse backgrounds of the residents together in a way other communities could never do.

We moved to IRCC because of the all-inclusive inside and outside maintenance program, which is wonderful. No more need to hunt for an electrician, a plumber or any other home service person. They are all right here in our facility with their kind, caring and competent abilities. We also moved here because we loved the concept of being able to drive the Golf Cart not only to the IRCC Country Club restaurant, but also to local grocery stores, shops and restaurants. After we were here for a few months, we realized that what would keep us in IRCC forever were our new friends and neighbors who had become our chosen family. The plethora of activities and events for every lifestyle provided the opportunity to meet our chosen family. We are truly delighted to be part of the paradise of IRCC.

We’ve lived in IRCC for 8 years. Before we moved here, I went back 10 years and calculated our maintenance on the home we were living in at the time. I was shocked to discover it would actually cost us less to live in IRCC than to continue maintaining our home in Broward County!

Here are some things to consider about home ownership in IRCC. You will never have to pay to paint your house, never pay for a roof replacement, never pay for a broken appliance, never pay for a plumber, an electrician, or an A/C technician, never pay to maintain the landscaping and never pay for pest control. There are some exceptions to the items above such as highly upgraded appliances or over-the-top landscaping.

The real cost for all these services varies somewhat according to the size of the house. Our monthly fixed fees are somewhere around $1000 for all the services I mentioned.

I’ve lived at Indian River Colony Club for 2 and 1/2 years and love it here. There is so much to do and great people to do it with. If you like golf, tennis, bridge, mah jongg, painting, crafting, swimming, yoga, acting, book club (this list could go on and on)this is the place for you. Both of the clubs are beautiful, the food is great, and the homes and grounds are kept in lovely condition.

“I moved to IRCC in April of 2011 and am very grateful to my Realtor, Denise Contella. She was the one who took me to look in here because she thought I would fit right in! She was so right. I had been recently widowed and one of my big concerns was my future and all the little things I could no longer do without my husband’s help. Here at IRCC, I don’t even have to worry when my toilet leaks, my dishwasher doesn’t work right. One call and someone is there to try to fix the problem and if they can’t you get a new one. The grounds are kept well maintained as are our homes.”

“Our maintenance program is like no other. I heard the sound of water running, but couldn’t locate it for 2 days over the weekend. Mon. morning 9am I was looking at the plantings outside and suddenly was standing in water near the main. I called maintenance. They came right away, found a broken pipe at the main and had a back hoe in, dug up the pipe and repaired it and were done before noon. Price to me? Part of my maintenance. Who would you call? When would they come? What would they charge? It is part of truly maintenance free living at IRCC.”
