(VIERA, FL) May 11, 2026 – Richard (Rick) Martino has been named the new General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Indian River Colony Club, following the retirement of John Robinson, who served in the position since 2005. Mr. Martino will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Viera 55+ golf community for military veterans and the community’s 120 staff members. The IRCC staff under his supervision provide management, administration, maintenance, and hospitality/culinary services for the Viera neighborhood of nearly 800 homes. Viera’s very first community, Indian River Colony Club recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary.
Colleen Ward is Chairman of the Board of Directors for the nonprofit and member-owned Indian River Colony Club. A retirement destination for military veterans, the neighborhood’s motto is “The Place Patriots Call Home.”
“We are delighted to welcome Rick to Indian River Colony Club, where he is excited to head our professional management team and create those ‘wow’ moments for our members,” said Ward. “He will work to ensure IRCC’s continued financial stability and chart a path forward for the next chapter of our community’s history.”
John Robinson, who served as IRCC’s general manager for the last 21 years, is looking forward to retirement near family in Stuart, Florida. A 22-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and former Chief Petty Officer, Robinson also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University.
