Indian River Colony Club Opens to Public for Garage Sale

Patriotic Viera community annual sale of military memorabilia, treasures from world travel

A customer looks over items for sale during the annual Community Garage Sale Extravaganza at Indian River Colony Club in Viera. This year’s event will be held March 1.

(VIERA, FL) February 17, 2025 – Guam. Italy. Puerto Rico. Korea. Greece. Germany. The Philippines. These are just a few of the international locations where the military veteran residents of Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) in Viera were once stationed. On Saturday, March 1, eager bargain hunters will have a chance to peruse treasures from around the world when the gated golf community holds its annual IRCC Garage Sale Extravaganza from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the IRCC Maintenance Facility. The Viera neighborhood of nearly 800 homes at 1936 Freedom Drive invites the public to park along Murrell Road and enter through its south gate at Continental Boulevard for the duration of the event. Courtesy transportation via golf cart will be provided to and from the sale site. Far from an ordinary garage sale, the IRCC Garage Sale Extravaganza event will feature military memorabilia, arts & crafts items from over 50 neighborhood sellers and artisans and a mile high table of mouth-watering baked goods — in addition to gently used household items, furniture, jewelry, clothing, sporting equipment and more. Proceeds from items sold by the community’s Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps women’s organizations will help fund their charitable outreach efforts on the Space Coast. For more information about the IRCC Garage Sale Extravaganza, text or call 603-498-9333.

The Garage Sale at Indian River Colony Club will have much more available for purchase than the offerings of an average neighborhood.

“This isn’t your average garage sale,” said Rob Rowe, Garage Sale Coordinator and member of the Indian River Colony Club Residents Activities Council. “The majority of our residents are military veterans, who have collected items from all over the globe. It’s best to come early, because a lot of things get snapped up quickly.”

Viera’s very first neighborhood, Indian River Colony Club is known as “The Place Patriots Call Home.” A haven for military retirees, the par-72 private golf course community has a patriotic culture and country club amenities for active adults aged 55 and over.
